ISLAMABAD--July 06-- The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) will take all possible measures to mitigate the gas problems of industries.
This was said by Aamir Naseem, General Manager Islamabad, SNGPL while talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) that called on him led by Karim Aziz Malik, Acting President ICCI.
He said that SNGPL is taking many measures to overcome gas problems as a result of which the country will see sufficient improvement in supply of gas in coming days.
He said that industrialists are playing a crucial role in strengthening the country’s economy as they are improving productivity, promoting exports, providing jobs and paying taxes. Therefore, resolving their problems and facilitating the growth of industry is on the high priority of SNGPL, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Karim Aziz Malik, Acting President ICCI and other members of the delegation said that gas is a major input, especially for steel industry.
However, they said that the low gas pressure is badly hurting the industrial production and SNGPL should take urgent measures to solve this problem.
They said that industry needs uninterrupted supply of gas with optimum pressure to run on full capacity. They said that operation of industry on full capacity will not only improve productivity, it will also create more job opportunities and contribute positively in reducing unemployment.
They also assured their full cooperation to SNGPL in mitigating the problems of gas shortage in the country.
ICCI delegation was comprised of Khalid Javed, Mian Akram Farid, Nasir Khan, Mian Jawad Aslam and Hassan Farid.
