The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has succeed to achieve surpassed the quarterly target by Rs 10 billion and collected Rs.373.819 billion during the first quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal year 2011-12 showing an overall increase of 27.4 percent as compared to same period of last fiscal year.
According to the provisional figures released by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), here Tuesday during the period from July to September 2011-12 Rs.373.819 billion were collected in terms of domestic taxes as compare to Rs. 293.496 billion realized during the same period of last financial year.
The FBR has collected Rs. 331.312 billion in terms of domestic taxes including Rs 122.189 billion collected from Direct tax, Rs 180.415 billion from Sale tax and Rs 28.708 billion from Federal Excise Duty during the first three months of current financial year.
The Board collected Rs 104.124 billion from sales tax on import stage showing 62.8 percent increase as against the same period of the last fiscal year and Rs 76.291 billion from sale tax on domestic stage showing 9.4 percent increase as against the same period of the last fiscal year.
During the quarter, the Board has succeed to collect Rs 26.529 billion from FED on domestic showing 15.3 percent and Rs 2.188 billion from FED on Import showing 44 percent decrease as compared to the same period of the last fiscal year.
The custom duty collection was recorded at Rs. 42.507 billion which was up by 14.4 percent as compared to the first quarter of the last year.
The custom collection during July to September 2010-11 was registered at Rs. 37.165 billion.
During the month of September 2011, the domestic taxes posted an increased of 24.6 percent as Rs. 145. 07 billion was collected as compared to Rs. 116.408 billion in September 2010.
Custom duties during the last month also increased by 15.5 percent during last month of current financial year as compared to September 2010.
The FBR set tax collections target of Rs 1952 billion for the current fiscal year. Rs. 363 billion was the target for the first quarter of the last fiscal year.
