The Commonwealth Foundation launched a new Grants
Programme under the framework of its new
Strategic Plan 2013-16.
The program is envisaged to contribute to sustainable
development in the context of effective responsive and accountable governance
with civil society participation and to promote
knowledge, sharing ideas, support innovation and sustainable models and
promote good practices across the participatory governance sector.
The Commonwealth Foundation has invited prospective
registered Civil Society Organization (CSOs) to apply for the Grants Programme
on line by 31st January 2012.
As per eligibility criteria Grants would be issued to fund
activities/projects of registered CSOs of a Foundation’s member country. Grants
will be up to 30,000 pond per year. Grants are also available for multi-year
funding. Applicants are expected to show clear evidence of counterpart
resourcing. Necessary details of the grants programme are available on the
Foundations’ website
Objectives of the grant programme:

- Complement the effectiveness of the Foundation’s projects by providing grants to CSOs beyond those supported through the projects
- Generate knowledge and understanding of participatory governance and its benefits in promoting effective, responsive and accountable governance within the Commonwealth by supporting models of good practice
All Commonwealth Associations are eligible to submit an application
