His resignation came amid when Pakistani economy is facing serious problems and US Dollar gone up to 100 rupees.

He has been replaced by his Dupity Saleem Mandviwalla on Tuesday. The move followed media reports that speculated about Shaikh’s resignation.

Mr. Shaikh was appointed as Finance Adviser to the then Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in 2010 and was later made Finance Minister.
