The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Fridaylauded the economic revival package announced by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif saying it will improve confidence of the business community.
The amnesty and incentives-laden package would improve sentiments, investment climate, tax base and the job market while reducing cost of doing business, it said.
Very good economic decision were taken in the past but never implemented but now a “Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council” has been set up to implement the decisions, said Zubair Ahmed Malik, President FPCCI.
Talking to business community, he said that establishing “PM’s Agriculture Advisory Council” is a good step to ensure food security and welfare of the farming community.
PM’s resolve on law and order, terrorism, sectarian violence, situation in Karachi, relations with India, energy crisis, weak economy, non-resident Pakistanis and MFN to India were encouraging for the business community, he said.
Zubair Ahmed Malik said that PM reassurance to resolve pressing issues through dialogue, disacknowledging unilateral decisions and risky path is pleasing as blocking the Nato supplies and requesting GSP plus at the same time is a great contradiction which will not work.
Decision to set up commercial courts, launch of civil nuclear power plants, withdrawal of powers of the FBR to access bank accounts of taxpayers are wise decisions which will help revive economy and fulfil major demands of the trade and industry, he said.
He said that the business community should extend full cooperation to the government by paying their taxes properly so that the package can become a success which will also improve the image of country.
The FPCCI chief said that the religious processions sometimes result in clashes and bloodshed therefore these should be confined to their places of worship.
