Mr. Thomas Williams, Charge’d Affairs, US Embassy in Islamabad called on the Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Finance on Monday.
The Finance Minister informed the Charge’d Affairs that the structural reforms, the new government undertook in the last eight months have started to yield positive results and all economic indicators are as per our projection or even better. He said that today we have fairly stable foreign exchange reserves and buoyant stock market which shows the confidence of the business community in the economic policies. The Finance Minister emphasized that, at this stage, the US need to expedite reimbursements to Pakistan on account of Coalition Support Fund (CSF).
The Charge’d Affairs assured the Finance Minister that US would continue to maintain partnership with Pakistan and will work for peace and stability in the region. He said that we are looking forward to enhance our existing relations in all areas of mutual interest. He assured the Finance Minister that the reimbursements to Pakistan will be fast tracked.
