Chief Executive Officer of Traded Development Authority and Patron in Chief, SM Muneer said that Harripur is an industrial hub; there were 600 industries in the district, which were playing their role in the overall economy of Pakistan.
He was addressing to the oath taking ceremony of newly elected members of Harri pur Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
He said that industries are playing pivotal role in the economy of country; they are generating employment, paying billions of rupees to national exchequer and reducing poverty in the country.
While showing concern the closure of industries in the Harripuir district, he said that it is an alarming situation for the government, where industries are closing. Government must take serious notice of this and take immediate measure to revive industries in the province.
He assured the business community that sick industries of Harripur district will be revived; it will increase Pakistan’s export and reduce unemployment in the country.
At this occasion, President Harripur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has said that more than 200 industries are closed in Harripur due to energy crisis and poor law and order situation in the Khyber Pakhtonkhawa province.
Showing concern on the ill situation of industries in the province, He said that more than dozen of industries have become sick in the Hattar industrial area and even more are being closed down due to power crisis and law and order situation. He said that Un-employment is increasing in the area, young and educated people are finding difficulties to find new job opportunities in the Harripur district.
Atif said that the provincial government has not formulated a new industrial policy despite the fact that the business community had given its suggestion to formulate industrial policy. Business men are waiting for new industrial policy to establish industries in the province.
He emphasized that to end terrorism, unemployment and poverty in Khyber Pakhtonkhwa, government should announce new industrial policy at earliest.
Speaking the ceremony, Presidential candidate of United Business Group, Mian Idrees said that research and Development sector should be strengthen to resolve in chronic problems of country. “All over the world R&D sector present their reports to government to make national policy, this sector will be established in FPCCI, which will also play leading role in the formulation of industrial policy of government”.
Speaking the gathering, Chairman Founder group, Abdul Rouf, said that business community of Harripur and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries will work together to resolve the problems. He said that in this regard a MoU will be sign soon which will provide a plate form to the business community.
Vice President of FPCCI, Munawar Mughul said that business community of Harripur and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce is facing common problems of gas and power crisis, the issue of law and order and taxation are creating difficulties for them. The business community needs a solution of these problems. He said the business community of both chamber unite together at a common plate form so that no one can take illegal action against them, a common meeting of both the chambers will be called soon to discuss these problems.
President of Harripur Chmaber of Commerce and Industries, Atif Ikram Sheikh assured its full support to United Business Group.
Former provincial minister sindh Mian Zahid Hussain, Member PVMA, Ghazanfar Bilor, Vice President FPCCI, Naima Ansari, Acting President of ICCI, Shakeel Muneer, sardar safdar Zaman and executive members of Harripur Chamber of Commerce and Industries were also present at the oath taking ceremony.
