Chinese entrepreneurs interested to set up joint ventures in Pakistan

A delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs from Tianjin Metropolis led by Ms. Jinling Xu visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and expressed keen desire to establish joint ventures in Pakistan in areas of mutual interest. The delegation was representing building materials, PPR pipes & fittings, interior designing, electrical equipment including elevators & excavators, mobile & mobile accessories, innovative & smart lifestyle products, security solutions and tourism etc.

Addressing the local business community, Ms. Jinling Xu, Head of Tianjin delegation said that Pakistan and China have time-tested good relations and people of China have special love and respect for the government and people of Pakistan. She said the Chinese entrepreneurs have come to Pakistan to find out possibilities of investment and joint ventures in Pakistan in order to transform the good historic ties into thriving trade and economic relations between the two countries. She urged Pakistani business community to develop strong networking with Chinese counterparts to expand their businesses.

Welcoming the Chinese delegation, Muhammad Shakeel Munir, Acting President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that China has initiated 22 major projects in Pakistan in various fields including infrastructure development, energy and defense along with more than 120 smaller projects and about 12,000 to 15,000 Chinese engineers & technicians were working in Pakistan, which showed that China was making significant contribution in the economic development of Pakistan.

He said China and Pakistan has lot more potential to improve bilateral trade and economic relations as the two countries have big market sizes. He said Pakistan offered great investment opportunities with attractive incentives to foreign investors, especially in energy, infrastructure development and agriculture and urged that more Chinese investors should explore Pakistan for business ventures.

He was hopeful that the visit of Chinese entrepreneurs would produce fruitful results as it would help in exploring potential areas of mutual collaboration. At this occasion, business community of both countries held B2B meetings and shared ideas on further strengthening bilateral business relations between Pakistan and China.
