To encourage hydropower in the private sector, and to improve energy mix in the country, the government is providing its full support to the investors.

While reviewing the progress of private sector power projects under various stages of construction, the Minister stated that the most critical challenge present government has faced since its accession to power is the power shortfall situation which he said we are addressing with multifarious approach. He conveyed that 800 MW will be injected into the national grid by private sector during current year out of which some projects are already under test runs.
