Sheikh Nawaf Saud Nasir Al-Sabah, the Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), called on Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, on Wednesday in Islamabad.
KUFPEC is a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the national oil company of Kuwait.
Sheikh Nawaf Saud Nasir Al-Sabah was accompanied by a high level delegation including Hosnia S. Hashim, Vice President (Operations) from KUFPEC. Sheikh Nawaf discussed with the Minister, KUFPEC’s continued interest and involvement in the Oil and Gas Sector in Pakistan and thanked him for his support in the past.
Sheikh Nawaf informed the minister that KUFPEC was working as an operator in Jati Block and expected to complete its work program on schedule. Sheikh Nawaf expressed his company’s interest in acquiring additional exploration blocks in the country, and assured him of KUFPEC’s continued commitment to Pakistan and its people.
KUFPEC has been present in Pakistan since 1987 and has invested over a billion US$ in the country. The organization is currently the second largest foreign oil and gas producer in Pakistan stands committed to grow its presence in the country.
KUFPEC has working interests in major producing gas fields in Pakistan including Qadirpur, Zamzama, Bhit, Badhra, and Kadanwari located in the province of Sindh. The Zarghun asset in Baluchistan is currently being developed. The company is also conducting exploration activities in Jati and Sukhpur Blocks in Sindh.
KUFPEC greatly values its relationship with Pakistan as the people of both countries share common beliefs and values that run very deep. KUFPEC and other KPC companies are looking at making additional investments in the country.
